The owner, Dave Holmes started in the music business in 1968 at the age of 16 booking and managing bands for Marmic Productions. The bands included Soul Inc. and Trilogy. In 1978, Dave thought it would be fun to take his stereo equipment to a pub in Pasadena MD called the Wheel Inn and spin records for the patrons. He then went to Fells Point the next summer and did the same thing at a place called Joint in the Point. In 1986, Dave bought some professional grade dj equipment and worked for a bar in Fells Point (Fletchers) and another in Canton (The Dillon House) where someone approached him about doing a private party. The party was a success and from then on Dave was hooked playing the mobile dj scene.

In 1988, Dave worked for Mobile DJ icons in the 80s such as Jerry Steele, Rappin Ray and King Arthur's Court. This is where Dave learned how to be the consummate professional for weddings and other events. He then created the Hitman DJ Service in 1990 and began booking jobs on his own. Dave was one of the first DJs in Maryland to incorporate a light show and props along with the music. "I believe every action creates a reaction". In other words if a dj just stands there and looks uninterested, the crowd will react the same way. If a dj enthusiastically entertains, then in turn the crowd will react and participate, which results into the crowd having a very memorable time.

Now many djs are following Dave's lead because it leads to positive feedback from the client since the party was a success. Dave's ingenuity, and innovative new ideas make him a leader in the interactive dj field. "I always feel you have to come up with something new at least once or twice a year, otherwise you will fall into a rut and repeat clients will sense that". Hitman DJ Service became Hitman Entertainment in 1999 as the company has transformed into a Multi Service Entertainment business that specializes in Weddings, not just a DJ Service. Over the last 12 years, Dave has performed over 1,000 weddings and has acquired over 30 wedding professionals that now recommend Hitman Entertainment!
